Balinese massage draws inspiration from a combination of Chinese, Indian, and other Asian traditions. Its primary objective is to induce a state of relaxation and overall well-being by promoting the circulation of oxygen, blood, and energy (qi) throughout the body. Through techniques such as skin rolling, kneading, stroking, pressure point stimulation, palm pressing, and the use of essential oils with their aromatic properties, the therapist encourages the flow of energy within the body.

Traditionally, Balinese massage is not characterized by gentle strokes but rather focuses on deeply working on the muscles. However, there are some spas that may offer a more gentle approach to prioritize relaxation. This form of massage has been recognized for its ability to uplift those feeling down and provide relief for individuals experiencing migraines, physical pain resulting from tense muscles, sleep disorders, and respiratory issues.
